The formation of Young and Merging Evaluators (YEE) Ghana was premised on the formation of EvalYouth based on the Global Evaluation Agenda (2016-2020), known as the “Eval2020 Agenda”, which was developed and agreed upon during the Global Evaluation Week held in Nepal on November 2015, and was the culminating event during the International Year of Evaluation (EvalYear).
The YEEs program is an initiative implemented by the Ghana Monitoring Evaluation Forum (GMEF) where a group of young and emerging evaluators will work together to achieve their career purposes and objectives in evaluations. It will operate as a network for the young and emerging evaluators under the sponsorship/ support of GMEF and other partners. Interested persons will be considered as members, with ability to activate their core group membership at any stage with GMEF.

Given the difficulty in access to job opportunity in Ghana, GMEF did not close their doors on me when i came knocking in 2018. Through the coordinator and Administrator i was able to secure a bursary from the Africa Evaluation Association to be part 2019 Afrea Conference in Abidjan. During the conference i was able to leverage on GMEFs platform to interact with firms in Ghana and beyond. Through this mentorship program i have gained immerse knowledge and practical skills on M&E and undertaken more projects with donors like Usaid, Mida, Adb,Mcc,koica etc. I encourage all young people intrested in evaluation to join Gmefs YEE for job opportunities at no cost.

I am very grateful to GMEF for their able assistance in enabling my participation in the recent African Evaluation Association Conference held at Abidjan in La Cote D’voir on March 11th to March 16 2009. Attending the AfrEA conference is one thing I will always recount, being my maiden edition for an international evaluation event.

When I joined GMEF in 2017 I didn't know what was in store for me. I just thought it was a place to volunteer and professional development. But GMEF through YEE Ghana has provided me the opportunity to grow my profession and meet the key evaluation practitioners in our field who morph into friends.
